From a global merge to local challenges

Context

Envalior was established in early 2023 through a merger of DSM Engineering Materials (NL) and LANXESS High Performance Materials (GER), orchestrated by the global private equity firm Advent International, which combined both divisions into a single, independent global leader in engineering plastics.

HR challenges

• Conflicting views and cultures between former rivals
• Extremely thight timelines, spread over three waves, had put the integration teams under heavy pressure
• Internal Stakeholders (HR, IT, finance/procurement) not aligned, lack of decision matrix
• Compliance & security checkpoints facing fragmentation : GDPR/access/audit-trail risk
• Severe employee impact from payroll/HRIS/T&A errors, risking HR's reputation

Intervention

• Governance set up : cross functional steerco's + task forces, cadence, escalatiepath and decision log
• Scope baseline : in/out, assumptions backed up by data, succes criteria and change control proces implemented
• Vendor alignment: one integration plan [SD worx and Dayforce] + [Protime] + [Successfactors] + Implementation partner [Flexso] + internal teams, with clearly defined dependencies
• Risk & compliance rhythm: risk register, checkpoints (GDPR, access/security), audit trail agreements
• Execution cockpit: weekly status update (narrative + KPI/milestones), issue/blocker log and actions with owners

Result

We established clear, end-to-end ownership across the entire transformation lifecycle, by proactively challenging cross-functional dependencies at an early stage and ensuring that potential risks were mitigated long before they escalate into executive-level problems
